Make Your Own Valentine Cards

I love having holiday related activities for my kids. It keeps them busy, out of trouble, and it makes the holiday season special.

I have made it a personal quest to have my children involved in making their Valentine’s Cards each year. We’ve tried it all. My daughter has personally colored cards for her entire class or made cute little Valentine’s robots. Honestly, getting a little kid to do that much is work and took multiple sittings.

So, my advice to you is to have your little start early or come up with something easier.

Save Money on Valentines

Before I give away my Free Printable Valentine Card for Kids I want to share with you my process. The first step of making easy valentines is deciding what you are going to make them from. I no longer try to come up with an idea before shopping.

What I mean is that I start my Valentine’s Card shopping on February 15th. Yes, maybe it’s crazy that I am going to hold on to these items for an entire year, but I’m usually getting them from 50% to 75% off.

That’s just the kind of shopper I am.

I have a large plastic tub in my closet that I call the gift closet. I use it for any little gifts I may find on sale or clearance throughout the year. And when someone’s birthday comes around, adult or school friend, I simply go into the box and see what I have.

It’s kind of awesome to not have to run out to pick something up.

So, last year after Valentine’s Day I headed off to Walmart. I needed to sift through the items that were leftover for something that would work as a class set. I found rainbow Valentine’s Day Rainbow Pencils and Valentine’s Day Pencil Top Erasers in star shapes.

It can really vary from store to store what is left over, so if your local store doesn’t have much try another one.

So, as Valentine’s Day rolls around again this year I pulled all of the Valentines gifts out of the gift closet and set to the task of creating Free Printable Valentine’s Cards for Kids that would match the star theme of the erasers.

Printing out your own free printable valentine card for kids is so easy. It takes away any stress you might experience with shopping and there is no debate with your kids.

I designed the Free Printable Valentine Card for Kids so you could punch the end and tie it to a pencil like we are or you could attach another item to the empty space. Use double-sided tape of a sticky dot to attach a star pencil sharpener like the ones you can find at the dollar store. Or tape on a plastic star ring.

Your imagination is the only limitation on what items you may want to add.
